Africa’s foremost family club, the Lagos Country Club, held its annual new year party on Friday, January 21st, 2022.

The event which held at Tennis Court of the club was a spectacular event.

The KSA night as fondly called by many, had all the trappings of a fabulous showbiz event. From the impressive Red Carpet to the absolutely breath-taking colorful giant television screen that stood almost the height of a storey-building inside the Tennis Court where the party held and of course, not forgetting the magnificent stage that could’ve matched that of any major music concert in the country.

It was indeed a stage befitting of the king of world beats himself, King Sunny Ade, who was on the bandstand all through the night, thrilling guests with his mind-blowing performance. The tall, slim and pretty waitress dressed in sexy red silky gowns from Nigerian Breweries, were a beauty to behold.

Without mincing words, the club’s President, Arc. Funmi Bamkole and his noble team, took the yearly event to a new level by raising the ante a couple of notches.

The party got off the ground at about 8.00 pm when the event comperes, the eloquent Engr. Jide Fashola and Madam Kofo promptly kick-started the party by asking everyone to rise to their feet for the national anthem. This was followed immediately by a rendition of the club’s anthem.

Shortly after, the duo began by acknowledging the presence of some of the prominent guests in attendance such as the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, ably represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Social Development, Mr. Olusegun Daodu, Oba Omogbolahan Lawal, the Oniru of Iruland, represented by Chief Abayomi Daramola. Business mogul and billionaire, Chief Adebutu Kessington was represented by the Club’s Chairman Board of Trustees, Aare Kola Oyefeso, the immediate past president of the club, Chief Tajudeen Akande and the Ikeja Club President, Chief Ayo Randle, were amongst other dignitaries.

Arc. Bamkole expressed his profound gratitude to all members of the club, and particularly Management Council members and the Organizing Committee, saying the year’s event was significant because the COVID pandemic had prevented the club from organizing the New Year party in the past two years.

He said: “We thank God for us to witness another year.  During the past years, souls were lost. May the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace.

“Ladies and gentlemen it’s not a night of long talk, we have come to enjoy, to wine and dance”

He also used the occasion to solicit support for some projects in the club.

Aare Oyefeso presented a cheque for N10 Million donated  by Chief Kessington.

No one does it better like the king of world beats himself, King Sunny Ade.

The Juju music maestro was called on stage to declare the dance floor open and thrill the guests.  Many wondered to find that age has not slowed down KSA one bit. His voice was as sharp as ever, his movements on stage, swift and beautiful to watch. He delighted every single VIP present as he sang their praises.

High point of the event was the presentation of awards to deserving members of the club and dignitaries.
