.Henry Agbojan, Dolapo Attoni, and Ikenna Nebolisa, alongside others, have injected renewed energy into the Port Harcourt Polo Club. This brings a fresh sense of passion for polo to the Garden City. Following a peaceful and successful election at the Club House on June 30, 2024, Henry Agbojan, formerly Vice President, now leads the club as President after the incumbent, Ebi Diriyal, voluntarily stepped down.
The newly elected management committee includes Dolapo Attoni as Vice President, Dr. Ikenna Nebolisa as Captain, Raphael Olowu as Treasurer, and Kester Buzugbe as Secretary. The committee, comprising twelve members, also includes Victor Ojum, Austin Onimisi, Alfred Okubo, Manasis Adams, Peter Batuba, Tito Ifejika, and Madam Nnene Onouha serving as Membership Secretary.
In his acceptance speech, Henry Agbojan expressed deep respect for outgoing President Ebi Diriyal and pledged unwavering commitment to advancing polo, a beloved sport in Port Harcourt. He assured both playing and non-playing members that the new committee would diligently uphold the club’s legacy, foster renewed enthusiasm for polo, and continue to represent the Niger Delta proudly on the national and international polo scenes.
Both Vice President Dolapo Attoni and Captain Dr. Ikenna Nebolisa are optimistic about ushering in a new era for Port Harcourt polo. They aim to leverage their extensive networks to elevate the club’s standards and ensure the annual Niger Delta Polo Festival, a cornerstone event in South-South and South-East Nigeria, achieves new heights.
Before the recent elections, the Port Harcourt polo community celebrated Captain Iynene’s election as President of the Nigeria Polo Association in Ibadan, underscoring their significant contributions to the sport nationally.
