The Squash Section of Lagos Country Club recently concluded its annual 2024 WorkNigeria Squash Ladder tournament, a highly anticipated event that saw winners emerge across various categories. The nine-day tournament reached its thrilling climax last Friday, crowning Dr. Bunmi Apata as the number one player on the Gold Ladder in the Men’s Category.
Arc Funmi Bamkole, a Past President and Patron of Squash, topped the Veteran Category, while Sir Semoore Badejo, Chairman of the Section, emerged victorious in the Super Veteran Category.In the Female Category, Mrs. Abiola Kolawole secured the first position, followed closely by Moniola Gege and Mrs. Wuraola Adeseun. The annual tournament witnessed an impressive cumulative total of 343 games played. Mr. Adeboye Teriba earned recognition for playing the highest number of games, while Dr. Kolawole Adeyemi was awarded the prize for the most improved player of the tournament.In his remarks, the President of Lagos Country Club, Mr. Seyi Adewunmi, praised the high spirit of sportsmanship displayed by the participants and acknowledged the notable improvement in the standard of the game over the years.
