Lady Captain IBB International Golf Club Solicits Support From Chairman Hilltop Global Oil And Gas

Ladies Captain Of IBB International Golf Club, ladies section on Friday solicited support from chairman and chief executive officer of Hilltop Global Oil and Gas Solutions international Ltd, Dr Charles Osasuwa.This came as the committee members of the section paid him a courtesy call at his office in Abuja
Lady captain, Julie Okah Donli explained that the children’s clinics is taking off with about 120 children, saying It is going to be followed by the junior golf open in August.

She said “The reason why we’re here is that from 15 to 19 August, we’re expecting about 150 children from all over Nigeria, from ages eight to 16 to participate in the event, it’s usually a very interesting one for them because they get to meet one another from all over the country and compete to win the cup.

“We have come to our father, to inform him of the junior golf open coming up and to solicit support from him.
“I thought it was right for us to come and pay him a visit and invite him as the father of the day for the junior open coming up shortly at the IBB International Golf and Country Club starting 15th August to the 19th of August 2024.

“The chairman Hilltop Global Oil And Gas has graciously agreed to come and do the ceremonial tee off for us and be the father of the day for that event, and I also came to brief him on other events that are coming up throughout my one year tenure as Lady captain of the club.

“The visit came out very positive as expected, and we’re very happy. My team and I are here, and we’re very happy with the result of the meeting”. Donli said.
Responding, Dr Charles Osazuwa Pledged commitment to support IBB ladies golf section.

Osazuwa pledged readiness to support the team and promised to join the golfers due to the passion he has for table tennis which can be shifted to golf.

According to him, “I want to join the golfers because of the energy, the enthusiasm and the fact that they want to make a difference, saying golf is a global game, anywhere you are in the world you can always connect.
“For me that’s a very important part of it and having met with them today, they will build an interest even though I play tennis. I am one of the best in the country when it comes to playing tennis. So let’s see if I can engage in the game of golf, he said.

Speaking on his passion for tennis, Osazuwa said, he drew his passion when he went for a medical check up and was told that he was fine but needed to do some exercise, knowing he is not a gym person he decided to buy a table tennis and started playing.

“If you do your research, you will know I sponsor table tennis tournaments yearly in this country, the next thing I’m looking at is to do it within west Africa where players will come from different African Nations,in Benin. I have really invested in table tennis”.

Competition Secretary of the club, Emem Thompson said
,”The club does championship programs every year. But this year we are going to look forward to something better than last year because every year people look forward to something better than the previous edition. we are looking forward to something positive and better this year.”On Friday, the Ladies Captain of the IBB International Golf Club, Julie Okah Donli, alongside committee members, sought support from Dr. Charles Osasuwa, Chairman and CEO of Hilltop Global Oil and Gas Solutions International Ltd, during a courtesy visit to his office in Abuja.

Donli explained that their children’s clinics are kicking off with about 120 children and will be followed by the Junior Golf Open in August. She highlighted that the Junior Golf Open, scheduled for August 15-19, 2024, is expected to draw around 150 children from across Nigeria, aged eight to sixteen, to compete in a spirited event.

“The reason why we’re here is that from 15 to 19 August, we’re expecting about 150 children from all over Nigeria, from ages eight to 16 to participate in the event, it’s usually a very interesting one for them because they get to meet one another from all over the country and compete to win the cup,” Donli stated.

She further expressed their intent to invite Dr. Osasuwa to be the “father of the day” for the upcoming event and to seek his support. She noted that Dr. Osasuwa graciously agreed to do the ceremonial tee-off and to support their initiatives throughout her tenure as Lady Captain.

“The chairman Hilltop Global Oil And Gas has graciously agreed to come and do the ceremonial tee off for us and be the father of the day for that event, and I also came to brief him on other events that are coming up throughout my one year tenure as Lady captain of the club,” Donli added. “The visit came out very positive as expected, and we’re very happy.”

In response, Dr. Osasuwa pledged his commitment to support the IBB Ladies Golf Section, sharing his enthusiasm for golf, despite his primary passion for table tennis. He expressed his admiration for the energy and enthusiasm of the golfers and showed interest in joining the golfing community.

“I want to join the golfers because of the energy, the enthusiasm and the fact that they want to make a difference, saying golf is a global game, anywhere you are in the world you can always connect,” Osasuwa remarked. He further discussed his own journey into table tennis, which began as a health recommendation, and his significant investment in promoting the sport across Africa.

Emem Thompson, the Competition Secretary of the club, also commented on their annual championship programs, expressing optimism for an even more successful event this year compared to previous editions.

“The club does championship programs every year. But this year we are going to look forward to something better than last year because every year people look forward to something better than the previous edition. We are looking forward to something positive and better this year,” Thompson stated.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties looking forward to a fruitful partnership and successful events in the near future.
