The Table Tennis Section of Lagos Country Club has raised the bar of competitive game with the hosting of two major tournaments in a week. On July 30, the section played host to Table Tennis Section of Ikoyi Club 1938 in a friendly that was scintillating and action packed. At the end of the game which proved to be “no Victor no Vanquished,” Chairman of Ikoyi table Tennis, Engr. ‘Soji Aladesuru, applauded the tournament for its sportsmanship and organization. He said: “It was an awesome friendly tournament with players displaying table tennis dexterity at a high level. Events like this will help upscale the game as well as enhance camaraderie among players. Chairman of Table Tennis Section of Lagos Country Club, Mr. Tunji Lawal, thanked the Ikoyi team for the honour and for helping to raise the bar in Table Tennis sports.
There were no winners and losers in the League 1 and Veteran played at the sporting event.
The Table Tennis Section also witnessed the Final of Lagos State Table Tennis Association Closed Championship on Sunday, August 8. The championship which had its preliminaries on Saturday at the National Stadium Training Hall, was full of grit and classy displays.
