The lively Tim Ayomike claimed the Guest Prize over the weekend at the IBB Captain’s Inaugural Golf Tournament in Abuja.
Ayomike, a handicap-6 golfer from Ikoyi Club 1938, carded a 72 net to secure the Guest Prize at the IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja.
Recognized as one of Nigeria’s top single-club golfers, Ayomike participated in the tournament, which was organized to welcome the newly elected executive committee of the IBB Club, led by Ibrahim Babayo and Julie Donlie.
In the men’s handicap 1-18 flight category, 13-handicapper Shola Adebayo emerged as the overall winner with a net score of 63.
“Winning always brings a positive feeling, and I’m very pleased to have won this event because it could have gone either way,” said Adebayo, a category 2 player.
Michael Rafferty took the top spot in the men’s handicap 0-10 flight category, beating Mohammed Kangiwa by two strokes, with Kangiwa carding an 84.
In the men’s handicap flight 11-18, Emmanuel Chioba fired a 69 net, narrowly edging out Yakubu Dogara by one shot for victory.
In the professional category, Godwin Okoko emerged victorious, playing a 68 gross to defeat Kamalu Bako on countback.
During the prize-giving ceremony, Ibrahim Babayo expressed his gratitude to the members for entrusting the new executive committee with the club’s affairs for the year ahead, assuring them that their trust would not be taken lightly.
