Gen. Adedayo Adesokan showcased his golfing prowess, clinching victory at the prestigious 2024 edition of the Ikeja Golf Club’s Veterans Cup. The exhilarating tournament, held at the Ikeja Golf Club course in Lagos, saw the participation of 120 golfers, including 90 veterans aged 65 and above, alongside 30 guest golfers, all vying for glory in the competition proudly sponsored by ADL Solutions.Playing off a 21 handicap, Adesokan delivered a stellar performance, carding an impressive 87 gross and a net score of 66 to secure the top spot on the competition leaderboard.

Dr. Ogunbiyi Ogunbanjo emerged as the runner-up, posting a gross score of 91 and a net score of 68, while also claiming the prize for the competition’s longest drive. Meanwhile, Mr. Audu Asekome secured third place with a score of 117 gross and 68 net. In the women’s category, Mrs. Oby Olayemi emerged victorious with a net score of 74.The male guest category witnessed intense competition, with Mr. Wale Ayanbadejo clinching victory with an impressive score of 83 gross and 68 net. Mr. Yomi Egbe and Mr. Kehinde Afolayan followed closely behind, securing second and third place, respectively. Mrs. Chichi Alamu dominated the female guest category, securing victory with a score of 85 gross and 70 net.Addressing the gathered golfers at the presentation ceremony, Mr. Sina Akinyemi, the Captain of Ikeja Golf Club, expressed his delight at the enthusiasm displayed by veteran golfers throughout the tournament.

He commended their dedication and highlighted the importance of supporting initiatives to enhance the club’s facilities, particularly emphasizing the need for new range poles and nets.Chairman of the Golfing Elders, Engineer Ayo Lawal, extended appreciation to ADL Solutions for their continued sponsorship of the tournament, emphasizing the significance of their investment in promoting golfing excellence among veterans.
