Ikoyi Club is ready to serve up a winning experience for its members and the wider Nigerian tennis community, thanks to a significant investment by MTN Nigeria. The club now boasts a revamped tennis court complex and a brand-new state-of-the-art lounge.
The project, valued at over N100 million, has transformed the tennis facilities at Ikoyi Club. The courts have been upgraded to meet international standards, creating a playing surface worthy of hosting major competitions. This upgrade promises to elevate the game for members and attract leading national and international players.
The investment extends beyond the playing field. MTN Nigeria has also constructed a luxurious lounge for Ikoyi Club members.

This modern space, designed to rival the standards of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, offers a comfortable environment for relaxation and socializing before or after matches. Additionally, the lounge is equipped with IT infrastructure and a dedicated service center, allowing members to conveniently address any network or phone-related needs without leaving the club.
Speaking at the unveiling of the facilities, Egerton Idehen, General Manager of Customer Operations at MTN Nigeria, highlighted the company’s commitment to shared value and its dedication to fostering the growth of sports in Nigeria. He emphasized MTN’s ongoing support for initiatives like this partnership, aiming to improve sporting infrastructure, develop young talent, and brighten lives across the country.


The collaboration between MTN Nigeria and Ikoyi Club exemplifies a successful corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. Diran Famakinwa, Chairman of the Tennis Section at Ikoyi Club, praised the partnership, acknowledging MTN’s investment of over N100 million in various club projects within the past six months. He further emphasized the mutually beneficial nature of the collaboration.
With its world-class facilities, Ikoyi Club is now well-equipped to host major tennis tournaments sanctioned by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The club leadership is confident that these upgraded facilities will attract top-tier players and inspire the next generation of Nigerian tennis stars.
